Hobart's premier radio station, 7HO, was on hand to report on the event using their state of the art facilities.
Bizarrely, this turned out to be Thursday morning. So they faxed the happy couple instead.

The ceremony was conducted in traditional Australian style, in a summer garden. Steve and Giulia exchanged their own choice of vows. Steve vowed to love, honour and spend too much money on computer gadgets. Giulia, in return, promised to share all her worldly goods, including the trunk full of material that she may get round to making costumes out of one day.

The Hobartians were very impressed with Steve's digital camera, as they'd never seen a camera before.

After the wedding, Mr and Mrs Davies were off on a fabulous honeymoon trip, and took the opportunity to visit a variety of fannish households on the mainland. I had the privilege to attend the party Cheryl Morgan held for them on Burns Night. The party featured haggis and lots of whisky; just the thing when the temperature is pushing 90. The highlight of the evening was the rendition of a selection of Rabbie Burns' bawdy songs and poems, which are entirely unsuitable for a family fanzine.

On their return trip to the UK, they stopped for several days in Hong Kong, the fabled homeland of all superfluous technology. The difficulties associated with the transfer of sovereignty to China later this year have now been resolved. Now that Steve and Giulia and their credit cards have been through, there are only three bent teaspoons and a used bus ticket left to be handed over.

The newlyweds' first public engagement as Mr and Mrs Davies is Attitude: The Convention, and we are sure you will all join us in remembering that they didn't have stag and hen nights, thus depriving us all of the opportunity to play tasteless practical jokes on them before the wedding.

Steve in the jacuzzi <-- Steve demonstrates how the other half lives, as he sips champagne in the Jacuzzi. Dr Plokta would like to see the companion picture to this one, in which Giulia appears, dripping wet and clad only in a thin layer of bubbles, as she takes this picture.
The wedding cake --> As the honeymoon begins, Giulia is made an offer she finds it all to easy to refuse. "Only a kiss? That's what the frog said."

<-- The bouquet and the cake -- will they be saving the top layer for the christening?
